Lessons from Workers’ Compensation

    Workers' Compensation schemes have been undergoing reforms over several years that aim to reduct claims cost and leakage.  Of particular concern are psychological or mental health claims which have been increasing in number and cost WC schemes more on average. Plaintiff lawyer behaviour has also change with legal firms looking for additional sources of revenue. Tightening of WC benefits and hard 'boundaries' has shown a drop in claim numbers and an expected drop in duration.
