Finity Principal Tim Andrews has been named Actuary of the Year for 2019 by the Actuaries Institute.
As leader of Finity's Climate Risk practice area and the Actuaries Institute's efforts in developing Australia's first Climate Index, Tim has staked a very public claim for the role that actuaries can play in the global conversation on climate risk. His work has been highly influential across the insurance and financial services sectors in shaping how Australian business and policy makers understand and respond to the challenges of climate risk and the emerging impacts of global climate change.
As a proud actuary Tim has always been an active member of the Actuaries Institute including his current role on the Climate Change Working Group. He is a frequent presenter at industry seminars, has authored numerous research papers, while his expert opinion on industry issues and developments is sought by media, corporates and insurers on a regular basis.
His professional career spans three decades and three continents. His immense range of valuable experience benefits Finity's workforce as well as the broader actuarial community.
We look forward to celebrating with Tim in November when he is presented with this prestigious Award at the 2019 Injury and Disability Schemes seminar in Canberra.
