Scott is a Principal of Finity.
During his 20 years of general insurance consulting, Scott has been involved in a wide range of projects covering pricing, reserving and capital management advice to private sector insurers and reinsurers, as well as government accident compensation schemes. Scott is the Appointed Actuary for two insurers.
Since 1997 Scott's responsibilities have included managing the firm's Volatility and Capital Management practice. Within this practice Scott has been responsible for advice to numerous private and Government-owned insurers in Australia and overseas. This advice has had a heavy focus on capital management issues such as the development of operational capital targets, risk-based allocation of capital to business units and product lines, risk margins, dividend strategy as well as asset mix optimisation and the analysis and restructuring of reinsurance programs.
Scott has spoken at numerous industry and professional seminars and has written papers on a range of topics including: the use of stochastic models to determine prudential margins, the investment management practices of non-life insurers, the role of stochastic modelling in capital management and an assessment of current theory and practice in the setting of profit margins and return on capital targets in the non-life insurance industry.
Scott is a member of the Risk Margin Taskforce of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.

• Advice on the establishment of LMI insurers in Australia and Hong Kong
• Design and implementation of a risk-based capital management framework for a major Korean general insurer
• Scheme Actuary in the successful completion of Australia's first Scheme of Arrangement for an Australian reinsurer (NRG Victory and NRG London).
