Gillian is a Principal of Finity Consulting and has worked in the general insurance industry for more than 12 years, and is the leader of Finity's Melbourne team.

Gillian has wide experience in general insurance providing services to insurance companies, medical indemnity insurers, statutory authorities, self insurers and reinsurance companies. Gillian's core areas of expertise include financial modelling and reporting, valuation of insurance liabilities and pricing for long tail classes of business with particular expertise in medical indemnity. Gillian is the Appointed Actuary for two general insurance companies.

Some of the major assignments that she has worked on in recent times include:

•  Advising a composite insurer on its liabilities, pricing, funding levels and strategic issues

•  The review of a state government's insurance framework

•  Review of the insurance structure for a number of major Australian corporates, including advice on the limit of cover to purchase

•  Assisting a client in determination of appropriate reinsurance strategies, including program design

•  Assisting a client with the due diligence and purchase of an insurer

•  Dynamic financial analysis to examine probability of insolvency for a personal lines insurer

•  Valuation of liabilities for a number of self insurance clients in various jurisdictions.

Gillian has co-authored a number of professional papers on medical indemnity, trends in large claim awards and CTP.
