Bruce Watson is a Principal of Finity and has 24 years experience in actuarial consulting, specialising in the general insurance industry in the last 13 years.
Bruce has advised insurance companies, government authorities and corporate self-insurers on matters including outstanding claims liability valuation, financial projections, premium rating, portfolio segmentation and performance monitoring, acquisition and demutualisation, market entry and customer valuation.
Bruce is currently the Statutory Actuary to the WorkCover Corporation of South Australia and the Appointed Actuary for two APRA-licensed insurers.
Bruce has written and presented a number of papers to actuarial and professional seminars on topics including asbestos-related disease liabilities, workers' compensation and insurance company valuation.
Bruce is active in the actuarial profession in Australia, being a current Councillor of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, a member of the Accountants' and Actuaries' Liaison Committee and a former Chairman of the Institute's General Insurance Practice Committee.
